Der größte Teil der Berichte über Sonnen- und Mondfinsternisse aus der Antike ist falsch. Die Astronomie kann daher die Chronologie der offiziellen Geschichte mit Jesus Christus am Anfang unserer Zeitrechnung nicht bestätigen. Die Zuordnung der Finsternisberichte nach offizieller Geschichte funktioniert nur dann, wenn man starke, willkürliche Schwankungen der Erdrotation in der Antike und im Frühmittelalter in die Berechnungen einfließen lässt.
Der Geschichtsanalytiker Mario Arndt hat die antiken Finsternisberichte neu datiert, ohne die willkürliche, spekulative Annahme physikalischer Anomalien in der entfernten Vergangenheit. Das Ergebnis ist die Tatsache, dass sich alle Berichte über Sonnen- und Mondfinsternisse aus verschiedenen Kulturkreisen, deren Geschichten derzeit nacheinander angeordnet sind, ein und demselben Zeitraum zuordnen lassen.
Most of the reports of solar and lunar eclipses from antiquity are false. Astronomy can therefore not confirm the chronology of official history with Jesus Christ at the beginning of our era. The dating of the eclipse reports according to official history only works if strong, arbitrary fluctuations in the Earth's rotation in antiquity and the early Middle Ages are added to the calculations.

Unsere Zeitrechnung beginnt in Wirklichkeit mit dem Auszug des Volkes Israel aus Ägypten und dem Bund Gottes mit Moses und den Menschen (derzeit auf 1313 v. Chr. datiert), und nicht mit der Geburt des gekreuzigten Jesus Christus.
